What was the ultimate cause in your Volvo's case? Was it also a valve issue within the cooling system itself, or something else?

Yes, in my case, it was indeed faulty valves in the AC cooling system. Given your description and mileage, it unfortunately sounds quite similar. I'd advise getting it properly diagnosed at a reputable workshop to confirm. They can check the refrigerant pressure and pinpoint the exact source of the problem. It's likely a valve issue, but confirmation is key.

I appreciate the insight. The diagnosis aligned with your experience; valves within the system. Repair cost is estimated at 1000€. Thank you for your assistance.

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my older Volvo a few years back. AC efficiency just plummeted, then nothing. Any unusual AC noise before it died completely? Have you checked for any obvious refrigerant leak? It might be worth investigating before assuming the worst.
