Skoda Kodiaq Active Hood Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Kodiaq displayed an "Active hood fault" message and an illuminated airbag warning lamp, indicating a problem with the active hood system. The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective acceleration sensor, which is part of the car's safety system designed to protect pedestrians during a collision. The problem was confirmed by a garage visit, where replacing the faulty sensor and clearing the error codes resolved the issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say impact sensor, do you mean the acceleration sensor that's part of the active hood system itself, or a different sensor? Did you also experience the spring actuators being triggered? Was your hood latch also affected?

Yes, I'm referring to the acceleration sensor specifically for the active hood. Mine were triggered too. Given that the spring actuators have been activated, it is highly likely a sensor issue. You will probably need to visit a workshop. It's best to get it checked professionally to ensure the safety system functions correctly. If the system is active and the hood latch is affected, the car safety will be limited.

The garage visit confirmed a defective acceleration sensor in the active hood system. Replacement and error code clearing seems to have resolved everything. The total cost was 315€, and your input helped confirm my suspicions.

I had a similar issue with my Kodiaq. The 'Active hood fault' message appeared along with the airbag warning light. Have you checked the impact sensor? It's part of the active hood system, designed to protect pedestrians in a collision. It might be faulty, triggering the system even without an actual impact. When the spring actuators are triggered it means the system is active.
