Skoda Kodiaq Alarm System Issue

I'm having an issue with the alarm system on my 2022 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine, currently at 233300 km. The error memory says there's a siren communication fault, so the alarm system doesn't work. I've read it could be a bad cable or plug connection, and the repair might be 95€. Has anyone had a similar security or signal problem with their car alarm?

A siren communication fault on a Kodiaq with that many kilometers? Sounds annoying. Did you check the basic connections to the alarm controller? A loose or corroded connector can cause signal problems. Is the error always there or does it come and go?

Thanks for the quick reply. You mentioned checking the connections to the alarm controller. Can you give me more detail on where that is, or what to look for in terms of corrosion?

A faulty connector is a common cause. Given the symptoms and the error code, it seems likely. Without specific diagnostic tools, finding the exact location can be hard. Since you know about the potential 95€ repair cost, maybe a visit to a workshop that can diagnose automotive alarm systems would be best. You've probably found the cause, so they should be able to confirm and fix it fast.

Diagnosis was spot on. The workshop found a faulty connector. The siren communication fault is gone, and the alarm system works now. Total cost was 95€, just as expected. Thanks for the help.
