Skoda Kodiaq Automatic Transmission Issue

Hi. I'm having some serious issues with my 2019 Skoda Kodiaq diesel. It's got about 194909 km on the clock. The main problem is the automatic transmission seems to be stuck in park. The engine won't start, the check engine light is on, and the gearbox is slipping sometimes. There's an error stored that points to a defective control unit. Could this be related to the gear linkage? Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Kodiaq. Did you notice any issues with the shift lock or maybe the park brake acting up? For me, it turned out to be a faulty control unit messing with the gear shifter and throwing all sorts of errors.

Interesting. When you say 'control unit', are we talking about the transmission control module? And did you experience anything with the neutral position? Was it difficult to select?

Yep, the transmission control module. And yes, sometimes it was hard to get it into neutral position too. If the error memory is already pointing to a defective control unit, I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop ASAP. Could save you from further damage.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was the control unit. Cost me about 1000€ to get it sorted. Thanks a lot for your help!
