Skoda Kodiaq bypass valve issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Skoda Kodiaq experienced a bypass valve malfunction and engine overheating. Initial checks of the vacuum system revealed no obvious issues. The problem was traced to a faulty sensor in the air intake system, which was causing the bypass valve error as a symptom rather than the root cause. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue, and the repair was covered under warranty.

Fuel efficiency seemed normal, and I didn't notice any weird exhaust noises. The engine stalling is what really got me worried. What was the fix for your Kodiaq when you had the bypass valve issue?

Mine turned out to be a faulty sensor messing with the air intake. The bypass valve error was a symptom, not the cause. I'd get it checked by a workshop; could save you chasing the wrong problem. Ignoring it could lead to more serious issues, potentially affecting other parts of the engine.

Turns out the bypass valve error was just a ghost. The real culprit was a faulty sensor in the air intake system. Once that was replaced, the bypass valve error disappeared, and the engine's running smooth again. All covered under warranty, so 0€ cost. Appreciate the help!

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my Kodiaq. Error code related to the bypass valve and some rough idling. Did you notice any changes in fuel efficiency or any unusual noises from the exhaust system before the overheating started?
