Skoda Kodiaq Diesel Engine Stalling at Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Skoda Kodiaq diesel with 153,463 km is experiencing engine stalling at idle and a check engine light, with an OBD error indicating a fuel level sensor fault. The issue is likely due to a faulty fuel level sensor inside the fuel tank, which can cause incorrect fuel gauge readings and engine stalling. The recommended solution is to have the sensor checked and potentially replaced at a workshop, which resolved the problem in this case.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say fuel level sensor, do you mean the one inside the fuel tank itself, or is there another sensor related to fuel delivery that I should be looking at? Also, did you experience any rough running or misfires along with the stalling?

Yes, I meant the fuel level sensor inside the tank. No rough running, just the stalling and the incorrect fuel gauge reading. It's best to get it checked at a workshop since a faulty sensor impacts the car dashboard reading of fuel levels.

I took it in, and you were spot on. It was indeed a faulty sensor, and the invoice came to 52€. Thanks again for your help.

I also have a Skoda Kodiaq, though I'm not sure about the year. I had similar symptoms once: check engine light, engine stalling at idle, error codes related to the fuel system. Have you checked the car electronics, specifically the fuel level sensor? It could be a faulty sensor. Does the fuel gauge display incorrect information on the car dashboard?
