Skoda Kodiaq Diesel Engine Stalling at Idle

Hoping someone can offer some guidance. My 2021 Skoda Kodiaq, diesel engine, has been acting up lately. It's got about 180932 km on it. The check engine light came on a few weeks ago, and now it's started stalling at idle, especially when the engine is cold. I've done some digging online, and it seems like it might be related to the tank ventilation valve. I even tried replacing the gas cap, thinking it might be a pressure issue, but no luck. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar with their Skoda and if it's likely a faulty purge valve or something else entirely in the EVAP system. Any thoughts before I take it to the shop?

The symptoms you describe sound like a tank ventilation issue. I drive a Skoda Octavia and had similar problems a while back. Have you checked the purge valve and the EVAP system for any obvious signs of damage or blockage?

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say 'similar problems', do you mean the stalling at idle specifically? And did the check engine light come on for you as well? Do you remember what the repair ended up being?

Yes, stalling at idle was a major symptom, along with the check engine light. It turned out to be a malfunctioning tank ventilation valve and some clogged hoses. I recommend having a workshop inspect the EVAP system thoroughly.

Just to let you know, I took the Kodiaq to a trusted mechanic. They confirmed it was the tank ventilation valve and some clogged hoses in the EVAP system. They replaced the valve and cleared the hoses. The check engine light is now off, and it runs smoothly again with no more stalling. Total cost was 175€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
