Skoda Kodiaq Engine Stalling Issue

I'm facing a head-scratcher with my 2020 Skoda Kodiaq, gasoline engine, mileage is at 69568 km. The check engine light keeps popping on, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle. I scanned the error memory, and it's showing an error related to incorrect fuel composition. I've already checked the basics, like making sure I didn't accidentally put wrong fuel in it. I suspect it could be a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas before I take it to the workshop?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine is experiencing engine stalling and a check engine light, with an error indicating incorrect fuel composition. The initial suspicion was a defective cable or plug connection. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was confirmed that a faulty plug connection was causing the issue, which was resolved by replacing the connection.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Volvo V60 a while back. Check engine light, engine stalling… the whole shebang. The error memory also showed something about the fuel mixture being off. Did you consider fuel contamination? Perhaps bad fuel or a clogged fuel filter?

Fuel contamination is an interesting point. I haven't specifically checked for that. How did you determine that was the problem with your Volvo? Was it obvious, or did you need some specialized equipment to diagnose it?

For me it was similar - nothing immediately obvious. The workshop initially suspected the fuel filter. But eventually, after some deeper diagnostics, they traced it to a faulty sensor connection causing the engine to think there was a wrong fuel in it and throwing off the fuel mixture. Given your error message and the other symptoms, I'd recommend having a workshop take a look at the electrical connections related to the fuel system. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact cause much faster.

Took the Kodiaq to the workshop, and you were right! It was a defective plug connection causing the incorrect fuel mixture. They replaced it for 95€. Thanks for the help!
