Skoda Kodiaq Engine Trouble

I am experiencing issues with my 2022 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is illuminated, fuel consumption is elevated, and the engine idles unevenly. I suspect a defective knock sensor, possibly due to a faulty cable or plug connection. I am exploring possible causes.

I had similar car problems with my Kodiaq. Check the ignition timing, though I'm uncertain if that's the root cause. A defective knock sensor can cause uneven idling and increased fuel consumption. Is the warning light consistently on?

When you say 'check the ignition timing', do you mean visually inspect it, or is there a specific diagnostic procedure I should follow? I'm attempting to understand the level of effort involved before potentially seeking professional auto repair.

I visually inspected mine and then used an OBD2 scanner to confirm. Given the symptoms, it's likely the knock sensor itself or the connection. Proceed with caution; perhaps a workshop is advisable.

I appreciate the insight. It was indeed the knock sensor cable. Auto repair was 95€. Issue resolved.
