Skoda Kodiaq Headlight Range Control Fault

I'm experiencing a headlight range control fault with my 2019 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine. An error is stored in the error memory, and a warning light is on. The low beams are either pointing too high or too low. It seems a defective servomotor in the headlight is the likely cause. Before I commit to a repair, has anyone had similar experiences or suggestions regarding possible troubleshooting beyond checking the headlight switch?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Skoda Kodiaq is experiencing a headlight range control fault, with an error stored in the memory and a warning light on, causing the low beams to misalign. The likely cause is identified as a defective servomotor in the headlight. Suggestions include checking electrical connectors for corrosion or loose connections and considering a workshop visit for precise diagnosis. Ultimately, the issue was confirmed as a defective servomotor, requiring a new headlight assembly.

I had a similar issue on my old Audi A4. The symptoms sound familiar. Have you checked the electrical connectors to the headlight? Sometimes corrosion or a loose connection can cause problems with the range control. Is the light intensity behaving erratically?

Thanks for the suggestion. I've visually inspected the connectors, but I haven't tested them. When you experienced this on your Audi, was it also related to the control module, or was it isolated to the headlight itself? Regarding the light intensity, do you mean flickering or something else?

In my case, the Audi issue required a new headlight unit, so it was the servomotor. The control module was fine. By light intensity, I mean did you observe flickering or changes in brightness that were not normal? Considering you have an error stored, you should take it to a workshop. They will be able to pinpoint the exact cause.

The Skoda workshop confirmed the defective servomotor. A new headlight assembly was needed, costing 1040€. Thanks for the input; it helped me understand the issue.
