Skoda Kodiaq Key Fob Issue

I have a 2020 Skoda Kodiaq with a diesel engine and about 190844 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting a 'key battery low' warning. Now the keyless access doesn't work, and I've got an error stored in the error memory. Unlocking and locking are also becoming unreliable. I'm assuming it's just a low fob battery, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this before?

This sounds so familiar. I had almost the exact same thing happen with my Peugeot a while back. The keyless entry started acting up, then I got the low battery warning, and finally, the auto key just gave up completely. A total dead key situation. Did you try the spare key to see if it's doing the same thing? That's the first thing I did. It could maybe tell you if it's the car or just the one key fob causing problems.

Thanks for the quick reply. Good to know someone else has experienced this. You mentioned trying the spare key - did you also get a low battery warning with that one, or did it work fine? I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth buying a new battery myself or if it could be something more serious with the car's system.

With my Peugeot, the spare key worked perfectly fine. No low battery warning, everything was normal. That pretty much confirmed that it was just the battery in the one fob that was dead. Honestly, based on what you're describing, it really does sound like the fob battery. I’d still suggest getting it checked out at a workshop though, just to be sure it's nothing more serious with your Kodiaq's system. At least then you'll have peace of mind.

It was indeed the fob battery. Replacing it fixed everything. Cost 37€ at the workshop. Thanks for the help.
