Skoda Kodiaq Oxygen Sensor Issue

I'm pulling my hair out here. My Skoda Kodiaq built in 2018 with a Gasoline engine is throwing a check engine light, and the error memory says it's an oxygen sensor heater failure. I've also noticed higher fuel consumption. I'm thinking it's probably a defective cable or plug connection on the oxygen sensor. Anyone else experienced this? Any ideas before I throw money at a new oxygen sensor?

That sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Kodiaq. The malfunction indicator lamp lit up, and I noticed the fuel consumption was a bit off. I remember reading something about the oxygen sensor being a common problem. Have you tried any sensor testing?

Sensor testing, huh? I've got a multimeter, but I'm not really sure where to start. Was it definitely the heater element in your case? And where exactly did you find the defective cable or plug connection? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

In my case, it pointed to the oxygen sensor too. I didn't want to mess with it myself, so I took it straight to the workshop. They confirmed it was something to do with the heater element circuit. I didn't get into the specifics of the cable or plug. But if you're not comfortable with sensor testing, maybe a workshop is the best bet. Better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to the air-fuel ratio.

I took the Kodiaq to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the oxygen sensor heater failure. They checked the cable and plug, and that was the culprit. Cost me 95€, which I think is reasonable. Thanks again for your help.
