You're welcome, no problem! Sounds reasonable that they have at least checked the ignition coil and spark plugs. Of course, given the mileage, there could be more to it than that. With my Skoda Octavia, they also suspected the ignition coil at first, but when that didn't help, they went deeper into the fault analysis and then came to the engine control unit. In my case, it was actually the case that after replacing the engine control unit, the whole spook was over. Of course, there are always a few possible options, but as you describe similar symptoms, this could well be the right direction. The symptoms were almost identical: black smoke, engine light, loss of power, rough engine, etc. They replaced the engine control unit at the workshop, which cost me around 1000 euros.
