Skoda Kodiaq Radio Reception Failure

I have a 2020 Skoda Kodiaq with a Gasoline engine and am experiencing a complete failure of the radio reception. The infotainment system displays an error message, and the audio system is non-functional. Diagnostic procedures reveal an error stored in the error memory. Based on preliminary research, I suspect a defective antenna. Does this assessment align with the experiences of others?

Summary of the thread

The conversation revolves around a 2020 Skoda Kodiaq experiencing a complete failure of radio reception, with an error message displayed on the infotainment system. The initial suspicion was a defective antenna, which was confirmed after taking the vehicle to a workshop. The repair involved replacing the antenna, resolving the issue, and restoring radio functionality.

Considering the error message and complete audio system failure, a defective antenna seems plausible. Given the mileage on your 2020 Kodiaq, have you inspected the antenna ground connection for corrosion or damage? A poor ground could certainly impact signal strength. Additionally, has any work been done recently on the vehicle electronics that might have disturbed the antenna wiring or the signal amplifier?

Thank you for your response. Regarding the antenna ground connection, where exactly is this located on the Skoda Kodiaq? And how would I best inspect it for corrosion without causing further damage to the vehicle electronics? Also, is there a straightforward way to test the signal amplifier independently?

While a DIY inspection is possible, diagnosing antenna issues can be tricky without specialized tools. Given the symptoms and stored error, a defective antenna is highly probable. It's often the antenna itself or the cable connection at the base. The cost you mentioned for repair seems reasonable. Taking it to a workshop is the most efficient way to resolve this.

Thank you for your insights. I followed your advice and took the Skoda Kodiaq to a workshop. They confirmed the defective antenna, as suspected. The repair, including parts and labor, came to approximately 255€. The radio reception is now working as expected.
