Skoda Kodiaq Smoke on Acceleration
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine is experiencing smoke on acceleration and a warning light, with the DPF failing to regenerate. The issue is suspected to be caused by a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor. Replacing the sensor resolved the problem, and it was suggested to use a diagnostic tool to clear error codes and reset DPF adaptations.

Was the sensor replacement straightforward, or were there any gotchas I should be aware of?

Yes, the sensor itself. Replacement is fairly simple, but you'll likely need a diagnostic tool to clear the error codes and potentially reset the DPF adaptations. Best to visit a workshop.

Confirmed exhaust back pressure sensor failure. Replaced it for 245€. All good now, thanks for the insight.

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia. Check the exhaust back pressure sensor. DPF regeneration problems often stem from faulty readings there.
