Skoda Kodiaq Solar Sensor Fault

My 2018 Skoda Kodiaq, diesel engine, presents with a solar sensor fault. Error memory indicates a fault, resulting in diminished heating output. Root cause analysis points towards a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered this?

I had similar HVAC sensor fault on my older Passat. Check the wiring harness and connector first. Corrosion can cause intermittent issues. Do you have VCDS to check live data from the sunlight sensor?

VCDS shows implausible signal. Regarding your Passat, was the error intermittent or permanent? Any specific diagnostic steps you recommend before replacing parts?

Permanent in my case, but after wiggling the connector it went away for few weeks. Check the connection first. If it's not that, then you should get it checked at a workshop for proper fault detection procedure.

Resolution confirmed. The reported fault in the sunlight sensor circuit was indeed traced to a defective connector. Replacement and recalibration, as per factory diagnostics. Total damage 95€.
