Skoda Kodiaq sound system malfunction
Summary of the thread
A Skoda Kodiaq owner experienced a complete failure of the sound system, with no audio output. Initial checks suggested a potential issue with the speakers, as there had been occasional sound distortion, such as crackling. This pointed to a likely problem with the bass speaker, which was confirmed by a workshop. Replacing the faulty bass speaker resolved the issue, restoring the sound system's functionality.

Sound distortion... sometimes, yes, I think I noticed some crackling now that you mention it. What does that mean?

Crackling usually points to a failing speaker. The bass speakers are known to go sometimes. That would definitely cause the whole sound system to go quiet. It's best to get your car speakers checked in the workshop.

Thanks for your help. The shop confirmed it was the bass speaker. They replaced it for 280€, and the sound system is working again.

Radio silence? Sounds like a busted speaker, especially if everything else seems to be working. Was there any sound distortion before it cut out?
