Skoda Kodiaq Transmission Problems Resolved
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Kodiaq owner experienced serious transmission issues, including an engine warning light, gearbox slipping, unclean shifts, emergency mode activation, and grinding noises. The error memory indicated a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. A fellow owner suggested that a low transmission oil level could cause such sensor faults. After visiting a certified workshop, it was confirmed that the low oil level contributed to the sensor issue. The sensor was replaced, the oil level was topped up, and the vehicle is now functioning smoothly.

Interesting. I haven't checked the transmission oil level myself, to be honest. Where is the pressure sensor located, and is it easily accessible? Also, did you experience any grinding noises when shifting gears, or was your gearbox in emergency mode at any point?

While I'm not a mechanic, the grinding noises and emergency mode do sound familiar. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. It could be a simple fix like topping up the oil, but there might be underlying issues. In my case, the sensor itself was faulty and needed replacement. It's best to get it checked by a professional to avoid further damage, rather than potentially making the problem worse by trying to fix it yourself.

Thank you for your insights. It appears you were spot on! I took my Kodiaq to a certified workshop, and after diagnostics, the issue was indeed related to the transmission oil pressure sensor. The oil level was slightly low, which likely contributed to the sensor fault. The sensor was replaced, the oil level topped up, and the error codes cleared. The total cost came to 365€. The Kodiaq is now shifting smoothly again. I appreciate your help!

I also own a Kodiaq, and I experienced similar transmission issues not long ago. The engine warning light kept appearing, and the gearbox felt jerky. Did you by any chance check the transmission oil level? A low oil level can sometimes cause the pressure sensor to act up, like a faulty smoke detector when the battery is low.
