Skoda Octavia 2019 problems with the navigation system screen

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2019 Skoda Octavia with diesel and 214567 km on the odometer. My navigation system no longer works, screen just stays black. Had a lousy experience at the last garage visit and am now a bit skeptical about where to go. Does anyone know the problem? What did you do and what was your experience with the garage? Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Skoda Superb. In my case, the cable connection between the control unit and the display was defective or there was a poor connection. At the garage, they removed the panel and checked the connections. It turned out that one of the plugs was loose. This was then fixed and everything worked perfectly again. It wasn't a minor problem, but it wasn't super dramatic either. I would recommend that you look for a workshop that specializes in electronics or where the people simply know their stuff. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your answer! Does anyone remember how much the whole thing cost back then? And did anything else come up for you then? Thanks a lot!

Hey, yes, I can still remember it well. After I went to the garage, the problem was actually fixed. The navigation system screen has been working perfectly again ever since. The repair cost me a total of €165. The reason was a faulty cable connection between the control unit and the display - the connection was simply bad. The technicians removed the panel, checked the connections and tightened the loose connection again. Since then I have had no further problems with the navigation system. I hope this helps you and you get your problem solved soon! Best regards!

Hey, your experience and tips have really helped me. I found a workshop that specializes in electronics problems. The mechanic looked at the sat nav straight away and sure enough, there was a loose contact in the connections. They removed the cover and reattached the plug. The cost was €150 - pretty similar to your case. Now my sat nav is working perfectly again! No more black screen at last. It was really stressful, but now everything is great. Thanks again for your help! Best regards!
