Skoda Octavia Audio System Failure

Okay, I'm officially losing my mind with my 2023 Skoda Octavia hybrid! I've got about 221714 km on it, and suddenly, the audio system is completely dead. No sound whatsoever. The navigation system is also a brick. I ran a car diagnostics tool, and it's showing a MOST bus fault stored in the error memory. I'm suspecting it's a defect in one of the control units installed in the bus. Anyone else run into this kind of car electronics nightmare? I'm pulling my hair out here!

Sounds suspiciously like a MOST bus fault. I had a similar issue with my Octavia – no audio, nav system completely dead, and a bunch of errors popping up. The multimedia system basically became a brick. It's a pain because everything runs through that bus network.

Interesting... How did you figure out it was the MOST bus? And what was the fix? I'm trying to avoid the stealership if possible, but I'm getting conflicting info from my car diagnostics. I am pretty sure it is something related to the bus system though.

Yeah, symptoms are very similar. I didn't really 'figure it out' myself. After some car diagnostics, the workshop identified it as an issue with one of the modules on the bus network. Honestly, with how interconnected everything is nowadays with these automotive protocols, it's tough to pinpoint the exact culprit without the right equipment. My advice? Bite the bullet and take it to a decent shop. It's likely a faulty module on the MOST bus system and those can be a real pain to trace.

Alright, I took your advice and went straight to the shop. Turns out you were spot on about the MOST bus network. After car diagnostics, they found a faulty control unit on the bus system that was causing all the chaos with my audio and navigation. I'm looking at around 1000€ for the repair... ouch! Thanks a million for pointing me in the right direction. Seriously saved me a ton of time and probably a bigger headache down the road.
