Skoda Octavia Defrost Air Distribution Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Octavia owner is experiencing issues with the defrost air distribution flap, resulting in insufficient heating output. Preliminary diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection as the likely cause. A similar issue was resolved by checking the blower motor resistor, but in this case, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty connection, which was repaired.

Thank you for the suggestion. The blower motor itself appears to be functioning correctly across all speed settings. Could you elaborate on the specific symptoms you experienced related to the air distribution? Was it only affecting the defrost setting?

Yes, the defrost setting was the most affected. It felt like very little air was actually being directed to the windshield. If your blower motor is fine, and you suspect a wiring issue, it might be best to have a workshop take a look. They have the tools to properly diagnose those kinds of electrical problems in the air distribution system.

Understood. The defect was indeed a faulty connection, as suspected. The repair cost was 95€. Thank you for your input.

I had a similar issue with my Octavia's ventilation system. The windshield was constantly fogging up, and the heater output was noticeably low. Did you check the blower motor resistor? Sometimes that can cause air distribution problems even if the blower motor itself seems to be working fine.
