Skoda Octavia Diesel DPF Exhaust Pressure Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Skoda Octavia diesel with 146,000 km is experiencing a "DPF exhaust pressure too low" error, accompanied by a warning light, reduced power, smoke during acceleration, and a strong exhaust smell. The issue is suspected to be related to the exhaust back pressure sensor. After consulting with a mechanic, it was confirmed that the sensor was faulty, and replacing it resolved the problem, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Interesting, you had the same issue with the Renault? Was it also showing a warning light? Did you also notice a strong exhaust smell?

Yep, warning light was on constantly. And the exhaust smell was definitely there, especially when the engine was working harder. Best get it checked at a workshop. They'll probably confirm the sensor issue.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out to be a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor as you suggested. Replaced it, cost me 245€ all in, and the Octavia is back to its old self. Really appreciate the help!

Reduced power and smoke? Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with my old Renault Megane. It could be a clogged particulate filter, but is the DPF regeneration working correctly?
