Skoda Octavia Diesel DPF Exhaust Pressure Issue

Alright, I'm scratching my head on this one. My 2015 Skoda Octavia diesel is throwing a wrench in my day. It's got about 146000 km on the clock. I'm getting a DPF exhaust pressure too low error. Symptoms? Warning light on the dash, noticeable reduced power, and it's puffing out smoke when I accelerate. Plus, a strong exhaust smell. Could this be the exhaust back pressure sensor?

Reduced power and smoke? Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with my old Renault Megane. It could be a clogged particulate filter, but is the DPF regeneration working correctly?

Interesting, you had the same issue with the Renault? Was it also showing a warning light? Did you also notice a strong exhaust smell?

Yep, warning light was on constantly. And the exhaust smell was definitely there, especially when the engine was working harder. Best get it checked at a workshop. They'll probably confirm the sensor issue.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out to be a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor as you suggested. Replaced it, cost me 245€ all in, and the Octavia is back to its old self. Really appreciate the help!
