Skoda Octavia Diesel Filter Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Octavia diesel with 67,168 km is experiencing reduced engine power and smoke emissions during acceleration, indicating a potential diesel particulate filter (DPF) issue. Despite normal backpressure sensor readings, the DPF itself may still be defective. A workshop visit confirmed the filter was faulty, and after replacement, the engine performance returned to normal.

Backpressure sensor readings were within the expected range. Are you suggesting that even with normal sensor readings, the diesel filter could still be the issue?

Yes, the sensor can be faulty but the filter itself can also be the problem. In my case, the exhaust system needed a new diesel filter despite the sensor seeming OK initially. I'd suggest a workshop visit for proper diagnosis.

Confirmed, diesel filter was indeed defective. Replacement completed, total cost 1550€. Engine running smoothly again. Thank you for the input.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my Octavia. Engine light came on, power was down, and it was belching smoke under acceleration. Have you checked the DPF backpressure sensor? Mine was giving spurious readings.
