Diagnostic codes, huh? Where exactly should I be looking for those dodgy connections?

Well, in my case, the Peugeot's issue was with a connector behind the dashboard that handles the SOS signal. But with your Octavia, it could be anywhere along the line. Honestly, without the right tools and knowledge, you're better off taking it to a workshop. Let them run a proper diagnostic check. At least you have a good idea of what to tell them to look for!

Thanks for the insight. I got it sorted at the workshop. They said it was a faulty connector, just like you suspected. 95€ all in.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar SOS signal issue with my old Peugeot. It turned out to be a dodgy connection in the automotive electronics. Have you checked the diagnostic codes? It could point to a specific area in the control module or telematics unit. Seriously, those SOS systems can be finicky!
