Skoda Octavia engine issue

I'm having a problem with my 2011 Skoda Octavia. It's a gasoline engine with about 203781 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and the engine has reduced power, runs rough, and stalls at idle. Also, it jerks when I accelerate. I suspect it might be a mixture preparation error, possibly a defective injection valve/injector. Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Skoda Octavia with a gasoline engine is experiencing reduced power, rough idling, stalling, and jerking upon acceleration, accompanied by a check engine light. The initial suspicion is a mixture preparation error, possibly due to a defective injection valve or injector. Suggestions include checking the spark plugs and inspecting the catalytic converter. Ultimately, the issue was confirmed to be a faulty injector, which was resolved by replacing all four injectors, restoring the car's performance.

I had a similar problem with my Octavia a while back. Check engine light came on, and the car was jerking like crazy. Have you checked the spark plugs? A bad plug can mess with the air-fuel ratio and cause a rich mixture, triggering the check engine light. Also, has the catalytic converter been inspected?

Thanks for the advice. I haven't checked the spark plugs myself, to be honest. The catalytic converter was replaced about 3 years ago. How did you solve your problem? Was it also the spark plugs, or something else?

Yeah, it sounds really similar to what I had. Mine ended up being a faulty injector. I'd get it checked out by a professional if I were you. Could save you a lot of headache trying to diagnose it yourself.

I took it to a mechanic, and they confirmed it was indeed a faulty injector. Replaced all four injectors and the car is running smoothly again. Cost me 515€, but it's worth it to have it running right.
