Skoda Octavia Height Control Problem

I'm getting a bit frustrated. My 2023 Skoda Octavia hybrid is throwing a "Height control restricted" warning. The warning light is on, the low beams seem off, and the car feels uneven. An error is stored in the memory and the ride's bumpy. I suspect the control rod on the sensor might be the culprit. Does anyone have experience with this leveling system?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Skoda Octavia hybrid displayed a "Height control restricted" warning, causing uneven ride and low beam issues. The suspected cause was a faulty control rod on the height sensor. After checking connections and considering the lack of warranty, it was advised to visit a workshop. The workshop confirmed the defective control rod, and after replacement, the ride was restored to normal.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Height control restricted on a newer Octavia, huh? That's a bit unusual, but suspension issues can be tricky. First, is the car still under warranty? If so, definitely let the dealership handle it. If not, have you checked the leveling sensor connections? Sometimes a loose connection can throw those kinds of errors. What exactly does the error memory say?

The car is no longer under warranty unfortunately, and I did check the connections, but everything seemed fine. As for the error memory, how would I go about retrieving that info exactly? I don't have a professional diagnostic tool.

Okay, so you've visually checked the connections, good start. Without a proper scan tool, retrieving the error code is difficult. However, the symptoms definitely point to a fault in the leveling system, possibly the height sensor or its linkage, like you suspected. Given the bumpy ride and uneven height, I strongly suggest taking it to a workshop. Even if it is just the control rod, messing with the suspension without the right tools can cause bigger headaches down the line.

Took your advice and went to the workshop. You nailed it – defective control rod on the height sensor. Part plus labor came to 110€. Ride's smooth again. Thanks for the help!
