Skoda Octavia Hybrid Audio System Failure

My 2020 Skoda Octavia hybrid has an audio system that's completely stopped working. I've checked the fuses and they seem fine, but the error memory has an error stored. I suspect the display might be defective. Any ideas before a dealership visit?

That sounds frustrating! Intermittent audio issues can be a real pain. Since you've checked the fuses, let's think about other possibilities. When you say no audio, is it completely dead, like you can't even access the audio system through the dashboard controls? Does it affect everything, including the car speakers, or just certain sources? Have you noticed any static noise or Bluetooth problem before it completely cut out? Also, did you check for any obvious signs of faulty wiring behind the head unit? Things like loose connections and frayed wires can cause all kinds of gremlins in modern car electronics.

Alright, so I've got a bit of a head-scratcher. My 2020 Skoda Octavia hybrid, with almost 198000 km on the clock, has decided to go silent. The audio system has completely stopped working. I've checked the fuses, and they all seem fine. The error memory has an error stored. I have a feeling the display might be defective. Any ideas before I take it to the dealership?

Good questions! Yes, it's completely dead. I mean, the whole audio system is unresponsive. I can't access anything through the dashboard controls. And yeah, it affects everything – radio, Bluetooth, the lot. I never noticed any static noise or Bluetooth problem beforehand. Regarding the wiring, I haven't actually checked behind the head unit myself. Is that something I can easily do, or am I likely to mess something up? I'm reasonably handy, but I'm no electrician!
