Skoda Octavia Hybrid Brake Pedal Vibration

I've got a strange issue with my 2023 Skoda Octavia hybrid. It has about 78850 km on the clock, and recently, I've been getting odd feedback from the brake pedal – almost like a slight vibration. I initially suspected squeaky brakes or worn brake shoes, but a friend suggested it might be related to undervoltage in the vehicle messing with the brake system. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Skoda Octavia hybrid with 78,850 km exhibited a strange vibration in the brake pedal. Initially suspected to be due to worn brake components, it was suggested that undervoltage might be affecting the electronic brake system. This was confirmed by a workshop, which identified undervoltage as the cause, impacting the brake system's performance. The solution involved replacing the brake shoes and disc brakes.

Strange feedback, especially with that mileage. Could be a few things. When was the brake fluid last checked? A faulty sensor in the brake system might also cause a weird pedal feel. It's like when your phone acts up because the battery is low, the whole system gets glitchy.

Thanks for the quick reply! Brake fluid was checked during the last service about six months ago. How would undervoltage cause the brake pedal to feel strange? Is it directly linked to the disc brakes or brake shoes?

Okay, six months on the brake fluid is fine. Regarding undervoltage: modern cars rely heavily on electronic brake system components. If voltage is unstable, the system might not apply pressure correctly or consistently, hence the weird pedal feel. It can affect everything from the ABS to the electronic brake force distribution, and even the brake shoes indirectly. I'd strongly suggest getting it checked by a workshop, as brake system issues are not to be taken lightly!

The workshop confirmed your suspicion. Undervoltage was indeed messing with the brake system. New brake shoes and disc brakes, plus labor, cost me around 240€ Thanks again for your help.
