Skoda Octavia Hybrid Engine Power Loss

I have a 2020 Skoda Octavia hybrid. I'm experiencing reduced engine power, and the check engine light is on. I ran a car diagnostic, and there's an error stored in the error memory. Any ideas what could be the cause?

The symptoms you describe, reduced engine power and a stored error, are consistent with a diagnostic code being triggered. Have you had the diagnostic code read? This would offer more insight into the engine issue. Also, are you aware of any prior modifications to the vehicle's ECU?

Yes, I used a car diagnostic tool and it points towards the engine issue. Regarding the ECU, is there a way to check for modifications without physically opening it?

Software modifications, such as chip tuning, can leave traces detectable by skilled technicians. It is advisable to consult with a qualified workshop equipped to analyze the car computer for such alterations. They can determine if a non-standard map is present, and whether it correlates with the diagnostic code.

Took the Octavia to the workshop. The diagnostic code pointed to a dodgy chip tune from a previous owner. They reflashed the car computer, and it’s running smooth again. 180€ all in. Thanks for the help.
