Skoda Octavia Hybrid Incorrect Fuel Composition Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Octavia hybrid was experiencing an 'incorrect fuel composition' error, causing the check engine light to activate and the engine to stall at idle. The error memory suggested a defective cable or plug connection as a potential cause. After considering possible issues like a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel, the problem was resolved by fixing a defective cable connection at a workshop, restoring the vehicle's normal function.

Interesting. Where exactly was your fuel filter located, and did the error memory also show 'incorrect fuel composition'? Just trying to see if it's the exact same issue before tearing things apart.

The error code was the same. And frankly, I'm not mechanically gifted enough to know where the fuel filter is without taking half the car apart. I'd strongly suggest taking it to a decent workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and save you a lot of headaches. Could be something simple, or something that requires specialized tools.

Took it to the workshop as suggested. It was a defective cable connection as suspected. 95€ later, the Octavia is back to its old self. Thanks for the advice!

That sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my Octavia, though mine's a bit older. Check engine light, rough idling... the whole shebang. Have you checked the fuel filter? A clogged filter can mess with the fuel mixture and really kill your fuel economy. Also, any idea if you got some bad fuel? Fuel contamination can wreak havoc on the combustion chamber.
