Skoda Octavia Hybrid Overheating

Alright, brains trust, I'm officially stumped. My 2020 Skoda Octavia hybrid is starting to overheat. It's got 57240 km on the clock and I'm losing my mind trying to figure out why the vehicle overheating is happening. Seems like the electric fan isn't kicking in properly – or at all, to be honest. I've checked the coolant levels, and they're fine. No warning lights are showing up, which is even more annoying. Any ideas? Anyone ever experienced this? Could a defective plug cause the radiator fan to not work?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar vehicle overheating issue with my Octavia. Check the electric fan, especially the cable and plug connection. A defective connection there can cause the radiator fan to fail, leading to overheating since the electric motor isn't getting the signal.

Right, electric fan cable and plug, got it. But was your vehicle overheating constantly, or just in certain situations? Like, mine only seems to get hot when I'm stuck in traffic. And did you notice any weird noises before it started overheating? Just trying to get as much info as possible before I start poking around.

Indeed, my vehicle overheating was most noticeable during stop-and-go traffic; the radiator fan couldn't compensate for the lack of airflow. I did not observe any unusual sounds. Given the potential severity of vehicle overheating and the hybrid system, I would suggest visiting a workshop for a precise diagnosis. If your electric fan is impaired due to a defective connection, it will only get worse.

You were spot on! Took it to the local guys, and it was exactly what you said - a dodgy connection on the electric fan. 95€ later, and she's running cool as a cucumber. Cheers for the help!
