I had a similar issue with my Octavia. Kept getting a low oil warning even though the level was fine. Did you check the wiring harness going to the sensor?

Wiring harness? Where exactly is that located? Is it easy to access, or do I need special tools? I'm reasonably handy, but I don't want to mess anything up further.

It's on the bottom of the oil pan, near the oil drain plug. I didn't mess with it myself, I just took it to a workshop. But if you're comfortable getting under the car, you can probably find it. If the warning light is already on, it's best to get it checked out.

Thanks for the insight. Turns out it was indeed a defective connection as suspected. The workshop confirmed the oil level sensor signal was faulty due to a bad plug. 95€ later and the error is gone.
