Skoda Octavia Parking Aid Fault

I've got a head-scratcher. My 2020 Skoda Octavia hybrid is throwing a parking aid fault. The parking assistant is totally dead, and the error memory is storing an error. My gut feeling, based on some forum digging, is that it's probably a defective cable or plug connection somewhere. Has anyone else dealt with something similar? I'm trying to figure out if this is something I can tackle myself, or if I'm better off taking it to the shop. I really need the obstacle detection to work. I use my rearview camera all the time!

I have a similar Skoda Octavia. I experienced a comparable parking assist malfunction recently. Have you checked the control module for any visible damage or corrosion? It is like a fuse box for all the parking sensors.

Control module? Where is that located? And when you say 'comparable' malfunction, was it throwing the same error about faulty wiring, or something else?

My apologies, I should have been more specific. The error I experienced pointed towards a faulty connection. I suggest visiting a workshop to diagnose the issue. Based on your description, you have checked all the main aspects. The repair cost was also in the same region.

Thanks! You were spot on. The workshop found faulty wiring in the rearview camera connection, like you suspected. 95€ later and my parking assist is back.
