Skoda Octavia RS Combi cruise control no longer works
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A Skoda Octavia RS Combi owner is experiencing a non-functional cruise control system accompanied by an error message. A similar issue in another Skoda model was resolved by replacing a faulty control unit, which was costly. It is suggested to visit a garage for diagnosis, as the problem could range from a minor issue like a faulty switch to a more significant one like the control unit. Immediate attention is advised to prevent potential escalation.

Hey, thanks for your reply! Had the car serviced last time at 87,654 kilometers. No other problems have occurred since then, just the cruise control issue. I hope that's enough information. What do you think, should I go straight to the garage?

Hey, thanks for the additional info. So, if it's just the cruise control issue, I'd recommend going to the garage. It could just be a minor thing, like a faulty switch or something. But it could also be the control unit, like mine, and that would be quite expensive. So yes, better to get it checked sooner rather than later before the problem gets bigger. Good luck and please give us an update!

Hey, I really appreciate your advice! I'll go straight to the garage tomorrow and have it checked. I really hope it's just a minor fault and not a major problem like the ECU. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Skoda Superb. I'm not a car expert, but I do have some experience with car problems. At my garage, they discovered that the control unit was faulty. To fix the problem, the control unit had to be replaced, which cost me around 1000 euros. Could you perhaps give me more information about your car? The more specific, the better I might be able to help you. Hope this helps a little!
