Interesting. Where exactly was the issue on your Volvo? Was it obvious once you located the sensor wiring, or did you need special tools to diagnose the problem with the power tailgate?

For me, the faulty sensor wiring was near the hinge. Not immediately obvious, but multimeter testing revealed the break. Given your error code points to the same, and you're not seeing obvious damage, might be worth a workshop visit before you start tearing things apart. They can pinpoint the sensor wiring issue.

Huge thanks for sharing your experience! Ended up taking it to the shop and you were spot on - faulty sensor wiring in the tailgate. 95€ later and the power tailgate works perfectly again. Cheers!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Volvo a while back. The open tailgate wouldn't fully extend. Have you checked the sensor wiring and plug connection? It's a common cause for vehicle sensor malfunctions.
