Skoda Praktik ABS and Steering Issues
Summary of the thread
A Skoda Praktik owner reported issues with a low tire pressure warning, an illuminated ABS lamp, steering wheel vibrations, and increased steering effort, suggesting potential power steering failure. The suspected cause was a defective valve affecting the tire monitoring system. Another individual with similar symptoms confirmed that a valve issue was the culprit, leading to the resolution of the problem after tire inflation, re-balancing, and sensor reset.

Did the ABS lamp light up, and did you also experience vibrations in the steering wheel? I'm trying to isolate if it's definitively tire related, or potentially power steering itself.

Yes, the ABS was definitely on, and the steering felt very heavy with vibrations. After checking for a flat tire with no success, I took it to a workshop. They identified the valve issue quickly.

It was indeed a defective valve in one of the tires, as I suspected. All four tires were inflated and re-balanced, and the tire sensor was reset. The final repair bill came to 280€. Thanks for the insight; your experience was invaluable.

I experienced similar symptoms with my Praktik. Check if any tire looks like it is flat. The tire monitoring system can trigger the ABS and power steering issues. Has the system indicated a punctured tire?
