Skoda Praktik Check Engine Light Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Skoda Praktik owner reported a check engine light issue, suspecting an air valve problem. Another individual shared a similar experience, suggesting the possibility of a vacuum leak affecting the air supply to the throttle body. The issue was confirmed to be a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve, which was resolved by replacing the hose, turning off the check engine light.

Where exactly did you find the vacuum leak in your car? Was it causing engine stalling or any other noticeable driveability issues besides the check engine?

Yes, it was causing rough idling sometimes, almost engine stalling. It was a small crack in the hose connecting to the air valve, difficult to spot. If you're not comfortable tracing vacuum lines, a workshop might be the best option.

Thanks for the confirmation. I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. The hose connection from the pump to the air valve was indeed defective. Replacement cost me 175€, but the check engine light is now off.

I had a similar issue with my Praktik. The check engine light would come on intermittently. Have you checked for any vacuum leaks? It could be related to the air supply to the throttle body.
