Skoda Praktik Diesel Battery Drain Problem

Alright, need some help! My 2007 Skoda Praktik diesel is playing up. The vehicle battery keeps draining, even after a good run. Getting error messages on the dash, lights are dim and flickering, and the error memory is full of battery failure warnings. Plus, it's sluggish to start. I'm thinking it might be the battery sensor? Anyone else had this? This battery drain is a real pain!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar battery drain issue with my Skoda Octavia. Check the battery terminals for corrosion, and get the battery tested. Weak or flickering lights are never a good sign. Could be a faulty car battery.

Battery terminals look clean as a whistle. When you say 'battery tested', do you mean a load test? And did your Octavia throw up any error codes?

Yeah, a load test is what I meant. And yes, my car battery issue caused error codes. I'd bet money on your battery sensor being the culprit. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the sensor.

Cheers for the advice. Turns out it was the battery sensor like you suspected. Got it sorted at the shop, cost me 315€. Hopefully, that's the end of my battery failure woes!
