Skoda Praktik Diesel Engine Running Rough
Summary of the thread
The 2008 Skoda Praktik diesel engine was running rough, with the check engine light on, and an error code indicating "reset quantity drift compensation." This issue could be caused by a defective injection valve or injector. A suggested solution was to have the car properly diagnosed at a workshop, where they can identify the faulty injector and perform a system reset. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing the faulty injector and resetting the system, resulting in the car running smoothly again.

Interesting. I haven't looked at the car sensors. Which ones specifically should I be checking? Also, do you know anything about the reset procedure for drift compensation?

Yes, the rough running and engine light were exactly what I experienced. I didn't dive too deep myself, to be honest. I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed. A workshop can run diagnostics to pinpoint the exact injector and then perform the necessary system reset after replacement. That’s what I ended up doing.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I took it to a trusted workshop, and they confirmed it was a faulty injector. They replaced it and performed a system reset. The total cost was 515€. The car runs smoothly again!

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Skoda Octavia. Rough running and the engine light. Have you checked the car sensors? Sometimes a faulty sensor can cause similar symptoms and throw off the drift compensation.
