Skoda Praktik Diesel Fuel Filter Heater Error

I've got a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2010 Skoda Praktik diesel. It's developed a nasty habit of throwing a fuel filter heater error. The symptoms are reduced engine power, poor engine response, higher fuel consumption, and a rough idle. I've scanned the ECU, and it points towards a defective cable or plug connection on the heater. Any ideas before I start tearing into the fuel system?

Could be the fuel filter itself causing the power loss. When was the last time you changed it? Also, have you checked the fuel lines for any kinks or blockages?

I'm not sure about the fuel filter, but how would a kinked fuel line trigger the fuel filter heater error code specifically? It seems weird. Could a clogged fuel filter cause the error?

The kinked fuel line was just a thought but the error code, combined with the rough idle, points to your initial thought being correct, which is a faulty connection on the fuel filter heater. Considering the error code and symptoms, it's very likely that your fuel filter heater is faulty. It's probably best to get it checked by a workshop.

That's exactly what it was. I checked the wiring to the fuel filter heater, and the plug was corroded. Cleaned it up, reset the fault code, and now it runs like new. Injector values are back to normal, and the rough idle is gone. Thanks for your help; the repair cost me 95€ for a new plug.
