Skoda Praktik diesel smoke and warning light
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Skoda Praktik diesel was experiencing issues with a warning light and noticeable smoke during acceleration, along with an inability to regenerate the DPF. The problem was suspected to be caused by a defective exhaust back pressure sensor. After replacing the faulty sensor at a workshop, the warning light disappeared, and the smoke issue was resolved.

Is it difficult to replace the back pressure sensor? Where is it located exactly?

I wouldn't say it is easy. Access is tight. You will need specific tools. Best take it to a workshop. It will save you a headache. But could be the exhaust sensor.

Appreciate the help. Indeed, the exhaust back pressure sensor was faulty. Had it replaced at a workshop for 245€. Warning light is gone, and the smoke is no longer an issue.

Sounds familiar. Does it struggle with DPF regeneration too? I had similar symptoms with my Praktik. Check the exhaust sensor. It is a common problem.
