Skoda Praktik Diesel Temperature Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Skoda Praktik diesel is experiencing temperature gauge issues, a persistent engine light, and prolonged warming up. The suspected cause is a restricted cooling grille, potentially due to a faulty fuse. After investigation, it was confirmed that the issue was indeed a blown fuse related to the cooling grille's thermal management, which was resolved by replacing the fuse.

Coolant level is fine. When you say cooling grille issue, was it actually blocked, or something else?

In my case, it turned out to be a fuse related to the cooling grille's thermal management. If that fuse goes, the grille stays shut, restricting airflow even when the engine needs cooling. I'd recommend a workshop visit to confirm, but that fuse is a good place to start.

It was the fuse after all. I replaced it myself for 52€. Thanks for the help.

Interesting. I have a Skoda Octavia, same engine type, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Engine running cold, check engine light... you wouldn't think a cooling grille issue could cause so much trouble, would you? Have you checked the basics, like coolant level?
