Skoda Praktik Door Lock Problem

I have a 2008 Skoda Praktik diesel. The doors won't lock or unlock. Mileage is 118052 km. I think it's a faulty door contact signal, maybe a defective cable or plug connection. Could that be it?

Sounds like a defective door latch mechanism. Have you checked the wiring harness that connects to the door latch? A broken wire or corroded connector could be the problem. Is the central locking system working on the other doors?

The central locking works on the other doors. I haven't checked the wiring harness myself, I'm not sure how. Is that something I can do, or should I get a professional?
