Skoda Praktik Engine Issue

I am experiencing some issues with my 2008 Skoda Praktik with a gasoline engine. The car has 232738 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and the engine power seems reduced. The engine response is poor, and the fuel consumption has increased noticeably. After some research, I suspect the crankshaft sensor might be the issue, specifically a problem with the crankshaft to camshaft reference value. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it also be related to the timing belt, even though it should be the timing chain on this model?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Praktik. Check engine light, sluggish performance... Was it throwing any misfire codes too? I'd put money on the crank sensor being the culprit, especially with those symptoms. The timing chain could be a factor, but at that mileage, it's more likely the sensor is just failing. Have you checked the wiring to the sensor?
