Skoda Praktik engine trouble
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Skoda Praktik with a gasoline engine is experiencing reduced power and a check engine light, with an error stored in the car's computer. The issue is suspected to be related to aftermarket chip tuning. A workshop confirmed that the chip tuning was indeed causing the problem, and it was resolved at a cost.

Yes, the check engine light is on. I did use a scan tool and got a fault code, but I'm not sure what it means. Any ideas on how to interpret that?

A stored error code and reduced power certainly point to an engine issue potentially related to the chip tuning. Considering the symptoms, it might be best to have a workshop investigate further. It could be a more complex problem than initially thought, maybe best to get it checked by a professional.

Took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a dodgy chip tune causing the engine issue. Cost me 180€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for your help!

That sounds like a frustrating engine issue. Has the check engine dashboard light come on? A scan tool should give you a fault code. It might be useful to know what it is.
