Skoda Praktik engine trouble

My 2008 Skoda Praktik with a gasoline engine is giving me trouble. Mileage is around 125555 km. I've noticed reduced engine power, and there's an error stored in the car computer. Could this be related to some aftermarket chip tuning?

That sounds like a frustrating engine issue. Has the check engine dashboard light come on? A scan tool should give you a fault code. It might be useful to know what it is.

Yes, the check engine light is on. I did use a scan tool and got a fault code, but I'm not sure what it means. Any ideas on how to interpret that?

A stored error code and reduced power certainly point to an engine issue potentially related to the chip tuning. Considering the symptoms, it might be best to have a workshop investigate further. It could be a more complex problem than initially thought, maybe best to get it checked by a professional.

Took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a dodgy chip tune causing the engine issue. Cost me 180€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for your help!
