Skoda Praktik Parking Aid Problem

My 2007 Skoda Praktik with a gasoline engine is showing a parking aid fault. The parking assistant is completely non-functional, and the error memory confirms the issue. I suspect faulty wiring or a defective plug connection. The obstacle detection is not working. I've read it might be the control module, but I'm hoping it's just a bad connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like a familiar issue. Have you checked the connections to the parking sensors themselves? Especially after winter, corrosion can build up and cause intermittent faults.

Good point. Is there a common place where the wiring harness is prone to damage on the Praktik? I'm trying to avoid tearing apart the whole bumper if possible.

Yes, I've seen similar issues, often with faulty wiring. While it could be the control module, the error memory pointing to wiring is a good lead. If you're not comfortable tracing the wiring yourself, I'd recommend a workshop visit. It's usually a straightforward fix, but chasing electrical gremlins can be time-consuming.

I took it to the workshop, and it was indeed a faulty wiring harness to one of the parking sensors. 95€ later, and the parking assist is working again.
