Skoda Praktik preheating lamp issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Skoda Praktik diesel owner experienced an issue with the preheating lamp staying on, with the error memory indicating a glow plug failure. Despite the low mileage of 39,318 km, defective glow plugs were suspected to be the cause. The problem was confirmed and resolved by replacing the glow plugs at a workshop, which also addressed concerns about potential impacts on engine combustion and fuel efficiency.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yeah, the error memory definitely points to the glow plugs. How difficult was it to change them? Did you do it yourself, or did you have to take it to a workshop? And did you also notice issues with engine combustion?

I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you're really confident. You could easily damage something. I took mine to a workshop. They confirmed it was the glow plugs and replaced them. It fixed the preheating light issue and the error. Regarding engine combustion, I didn't notice anything specifically, but it's possible it was running a bit rougher than usual.

Big thanks for the help! Took it to the workshop this morning, turns out you were spot on. Glow plugs were indeed the culprits. All sorted now, cost me around 440€ including labor. Hopefully, this will improve the fuel efficiency of my diesel car. At least, the check engine light is off!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Praktik. The preheating light stayed on, and the check engine light lit up. Have you checked the glow plugs themselves? That was the problem with mine, and it triggered an error code.
