Skoda Rapid Active Hood Fault and Airbag Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Skoda Rapid owner experienced an "Active hood fault" message and an illuminated airbag warning light, with the spring actuators being triggered. The issue was suspected to be a defective acceleration sensor affecting the crash detection system. After confirming the problem, the acceleration sensor was replaced, resolving the issue and restoring the vehicle's safety systems.

Thanks for your reply! I did inspect the hood latch, and it seems to be functioning correctly. However, the spring actuators were triggered, which points to a more complex issue. Did you also have the triggered actuators, or just the warning lights? Any additional details would be helpful.

In my case, the spring actuators weren't triggered, it was just the warning lights and the error message. I remember reading somewhere that the acceleration sensor is a common culprit for these types of issues. Given that your actuators have been triggered, I'd strongly recommend taking it to a workshop. Messing with the hood system yourself could be risky.

The problem is resolved. It was the acceleration sensor, as suspected. The repair cost 315€, but at least the safety systems are working again. Thanks for the advice!

I also own a Skoda Rapid, though I can’t recall the exact year. I experienced a similar issue with the 'Active hood fault' message and the airbag warning light. It's unsettling when car electronics act up. Did you check the hood latch? Sometimes a faulty latch can trigger such warnings.
