Skoda Rapid Diesel Engine Power Loss

I'm having a problem with my Skoda Rapid from . The check engine light keeps popping up, and it feels like I've lost a ton of power. The engine response is terrible, and I'm pretty sure I'm burning more fuel than usual. I'm thinking it might be a faulty manifold pressure sensor. Does this sound right? It feels like there's a large vacuum leakage but I am not sure where to check.

Check engine light and power loss could be a few things, but a faulty pressure sensor is plausible. Have you noticed any vacuum leaks, hissing sounds maybe? Also, do you have access to an OBD2 scanner to confirm the sensor failure?

I haven't noticed any hissing, but it's pretty noisy when I'm driving. How would I check for vacuum leaks? I do have a basic OBD2 scanner, but I'm not sure what readings I should be looking for to confirm the sensor failure. Is there a specific error code related to the pressure sensor?

Error code will point to the automotive sensor issue. A large vacuum leakage will definitely cause sensor failure and can affect engine performance. Given the symptoms and your mileage, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop to confirm pressure sensor diagnosis and replace the car sensors if necessary.

Thanks for the help I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a faulty manifold pressure sensor. They replaced it for 235€. Runs like new now. Hopefully, this fixes my reduced engine power issue for good.
