Skoda Rapid diesel issues

Interesting analogy! So, you're saying even a slightly dodgy connection on the clutch pedal switch can cause all those issues? The error memory thing threw me off, I thought it might be something more complex. Was your fix just cleaning or replacing the connector, or did you swap out the whole switch?

Yep, a dodgy connection there can cause all sorts of havoc. In my case, it turned out to be the whole switch. The connection looked fine at first glance, but the switch itself was faulty. Honestly, with all those symptoms pointing that way, and the error code confirming it, I'd just bite the bullet and replace the switch. It's a relatively cheap part, but if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, best to take it to a workshop.

It WAS the clutch pedal switch, like you said. 95€ later and she's purring again. Thanks for the insight!

Sounds like a faulty safety switch to me. Had something similar happen on my Rapid (though I can't recall the exact year). Cruise control went kaput, and the gear indicator was acting like it had a mind of its own. The engine refusing to start is the kicker, though – that's the safety switch doing its job too well. Think of it like a bouncer at a club, not letting anyone in because there's a tiny scratch on the door. Did you check the connections? Wires can get brittle, especially near the pedals.
